school days

Jackson started his first day of school in the "2's" class....he was brave, cautious, but overall happy!!!!

no tears this year from him or me....pure excitement!!! He was too thrilled to carry his lunch box into class to really realize what was happening i think.......... that definitely makes for an easier morning; me not worrying if he is still crying.......boy, they sure grow up too fast.....everyone says that cheesy phrase, but it is so true....

i am soooo happy for him! we love you littleman

in going through my camera to upload some pictures today, i realized that i forgot to post some shots from a very special time.... a few weeks ago we had a sort of mini family get together at the beach.... much of the time, days go by so fast that it makes it hard to keep up with the ones we live in the same house with, let alone those that we do not get to see often, but love so much.....
Kitty's sister Patti and her family stay at the beach for a week every summer, and this year we finally were able to get most everyone together....we missed lindsey, preston and the girls and hope we can do it again with all next year
thank you patti for letting us share in your vacation....the day was wonderful and we very much enjoyed the time spent together!!! xoxo

rain, rain go away!!

i seems as though we have no end in sight to the rain......tropical storm fay cancelled much of our planned fun last week and we had to get creative in how to pass the time inside.
we baked cookies, curled up and read books, played in the garage with our chalk and toys, and spent alot of time at kiki and waynedaddy's house to break up the day.....
jackson did not understand why the lights and tv did not work on thursday and friday and the only thing i could come up with to explain the storm to a two year old was that the rain broke the power to the house......and his response was" then turn the rain off mommy!!" i had no comment to that statement but laughs......but he did not think it was funny.....
we got to splash in some puddles outside on friday in the only 5 minutes of reprieve from rain that we had..and we were SOOOO thankful that sunday finally brought us clear skies and sun to play outside in.... i do not know how the people in the pacific northwest handle the weather.....i need sun
oh, the fun we have in florida during hurricane season, but we are truly blessed to have made it through the storm with minimal damage... we pray for those who lost more!!

happy friday

today has started off to a much better start than yesterday......maybe the great weather or good night sleep both jackson and i have gotten made the morning run much better....
yesterday was full of terrible 2's frustration and tantrums. i had hoped to have a good morning by having a small play date for jackson with a couple of friends, but he was NOT into it and although everyone was sweet and supportive, it was a very trying day for mom
i guess we have to take the good with the bad, right???
go figure though, after everyone departed and i was letting out my mommy frustration with tears, jackson looks at me and says "mommy, you otay?" i responded, "no jackson, mommy is very sad"....jackson followed this with " mommy, you be otay...here is big hugs"and he leaned over and gave me the longest, tightest hug ever....now why on earth can he be so sweet and so sour???? i know, its the two's
today has been great....play time and breakfast, just mommy and jackson at the s-curve park followed by our now weekly trip to the library to visit ms.owl....oh and book time...so far all smiles and sunshine today....i just pray it lasts at least until daddy gets home!!!!

doctors and divas

yesterday, my day was half consumed by sitting in my ob's waiting room.....after sitting there nearly 50 minutes, they finally took me back for my 12wk checkup and ultrasound...we were given the thumbs up on health and the peanut is growing very well...the scan we had was a new test to help detect abnormalities earlier and to our delight, we have a very normal, healthy bambino #2 so far.....after a nearly two hour appt, i was surely ready for our girls night out, too bad i could not sip some vino, but the night was great without it
allison, shelley, sherry and i went to girls dinner sans all children and hubbies at one of our favs...1171.......dinner and company was a delight, and conversations ran through every funny topic except our kids.....finally some adult chat!!
i don't think any of us wanted the evening to end, but all good things have to come to a close...
thank you to all of our hubbies for taking over child supervision for the evening, giving us a well needed break, you all rock!!!

playing catch up

so to say the least, i have been quite slack in posting to our blog, so here is a brief summary of the past few weeks.....in between feeling under the weather from nausea and headaches and the real weather being so crummy, jackson and i have managed to share some fun moments..
we have made a trip to the zoo with the mcdonalds, nightingales and sharkey families, had some park play dates, chik-fil-a lunches, rides on the jacksonville people mover with kirby and bebe, storytimes at the library followed by the famous mrs. owl session, gym class,
bookstore adventures, learning how krispy kreme doughnuts are made with shelley and emsley, pool dates, watching jaguar football practices with daddy and other good family moments on the weekends just about wrap up the summary!
not so bad for not leaving jacksonville city limits..in addition to not posting often, my camera has been on vacation as well, but i will soon add some cute shots of recent moments..thanks to all of our friends and family for helping us break up the summer bordem....i don't know who is looking forward to school starting more, me or littleman??
