almost there

we were finally given the sacred words we have been so anxiously waiting for...."please bring your carseat in for the safety test on your next visit". see, you have to have a mandatory seat check to ensure that all babies coming out of the NICU can maintain their vitals in order to be released from the hospital. so this means that we will be heading home...WITH olivia by tuesday, whahoo!!!!!!!! our prayers have been answered!!!

circus fun

thursday, nathan surprised jackson and i with tickets to the ringling bros show for friday.....he thought that littleman and i deserved a date together since life has been so chaotic lately!! and boy was he right....we had the very best time together. jackson was in absolute awe the entire time and was on his best behavior for me.....to see his little face light up while he was watching the show was worth every penny.....jackson even managed to sucker me into a $20 spinner toy and a $7 box of popcorn, oh well, once in a blue moon we do this, so it was worth it too!! the best part was when we were allowed to sit on the floor for part of the show and be "in" the action of it all; however, jackson was not into the clowns getting too close to him (he did get to high-five the conductor..too cool) I think now that we have little miss added to the mix, i will make a plan to have date time with jackson each month!! thanks daddy for a wonderful day!!

look at me!

strong and steady

It has been exactly two weeks today since our Olivia made her way into the world and we have been very thankful to have made strong, steady progress in the right direction....almost out the door!!!! we just need to teach her how to eat more from the bottle...but we are happy to accept the positive progress we get every day we see her do more.....i look at her compared to all the other babies and feel blessed for what we have. we hope to have her home soon, i think the doctors and nurses like her there, but we like her more!! we cannot thank them for the wonderful support and strength they have given to us on this long road home.

announcing Olivia!!!

Welcome to the world miss Olivia!!! after crossing our fingers (and my knees, hehe), olivia's persistance payed off and she could wait no longer.....she made her arrival on wed, January 7th, 2009 at 10:41 pm....weighing 4lbs 14oz and 18 inches long.
it was much easier labor and much less painful the second time around.....she came out healthy and screaming, but since she chose to come 6 weeks early, we had no choice but to have her go to the NICU at the hospital. she is doing very well and we hope to have her home VERY soon!! it is amazing how much your love multiplies the second you lay eyes on someone!! we cannot remember life before her....our little miracle. our very beautiful blessing.

Holidays 2008

Here goes on the massive update...so to catch up, we had a wonderful holiday!! we spent most of the month having well needed family time!! Daddy had lots of vacation time to use....and had several days home...one of those he spent taking jackson to the annual OMC live nativity where he got to pet some fun animals and see lots of friends....mommy, daddy and jackson had the most fun just driving the neighborhoods looking at all the beautiful christmas lights...especially on luminary night!!

This year was the first year that littleman really grasped the concept of Santa...mommy and jackson had the best time baking cookies for santa and the reindeer's. Littleman rolled out the dough, cut the shapes out by himself and decorated them with colorful sprinkles. He then needed mommy's help leaving santa a letter....but was very specific as to what he wanted said as seen in the picture below. Christmas day was the best!!! seeing Jackson's face when he woke up (rather when nathan and i woke him up because we were beyond excited for him!!) was the best experience aside from birth....it was so cute, he first went to see if santa ate the cookies he made and then he sat down on the floor in a daze...10 minutes later he slowly realized what was next to the tree......his very own kitchen and all the other loved toys! we rounded out the rest of the day with brunch at kiki's house and dinner with all the family that evening.....it was a very wonderful day...we are very thankful and blessed to have this little family of ours!! we cannot wait until next year to see what having two kids at holiday time will be like!!
