we spent this memorial day weekend at the beach condo here in jax....just the four of us. it was nice and quiet and a much needed break for us to share together. the kids loved the beach time and we enjoyed watching them have so much fun.... boogie boarding, finding cool seashells, swimming, chasing the waves, some pool time too, and jackson's newest fav thing...making sand angels! we even managed to get some meals out in public aka restaurants, and we came out in one piece! it may have taken a couple of margaritas for me to remain sane, but it worked in the end. lazy days on the sand is how i wish we could spend every day. hope everyone enjoyed this memorial day as much as we did!

one, two, three, FOUR!!!
my promise to myself this year was to have a low key celebration for jackson's bday. we have had big fun in years past and thought since we were going to disney right before, that would be a good way to enjoy the time. WRONG!!! of course this would be THE year that jackson "gets" his birthday. i should have known better. one look at his sad face when i told him we were not having a party with his friends and i cowered down. i convinced myself that i could do a "simple" party at the park. WRONG again!
i just don't have it in me to do things small....so i did it smaller than i usually would. so it went from just cupcakes at the park, nothing else to ...well i need to do a party favor if everyone is coming and i forgot to say "no gift", but there will be no theme, no theme to the at all.
Lastly, WRONG again.....i found these adorable dino masks online while i was searching for party favor ideas and i just had to get them! hahaha. i REALLY should know better!!
so that finally lead to a dino themed park party with masks, favors, custom dino picks for the cupcakes, drinks....oh, and balloons! so i did not do table clothes, printed invitations or a sheilas cake..... i did modify this year, but my motto is now "GO big or Go home!!!
all in all, it was a great afternoon for littleman with all his peeps. i love them all. thank u to everyone that made the party so special. we love you littleman....u r our best boy ever! four years has flown by and you have filled it with more joy than we have had in thirty! xoxo

hollywood fun
day two of our fun in orlando started off pretty good...kiddos slept well and later than usual. miss.O made her way to our bed early in the am and took in a few more zzzz's. snug as a bug. we got ourselves ready for another fun filled day at Hollywood Studios (for us that have not been in a while..formerly known as MGM). it was a great time...and we managed to bump into some good friends from jax that were also on a trip there. it made for good laughs and good times. they were pros at the parks, so they mapped out our entire plan for the park for us. that is the way to go....give me an itinerary to follow and i am happy as pie!! short of a few sleep-induced meltdowns, the day was perfect. smiles to last for many memories
jackson as spider-boy
miss o playing in Honey I shrunk the kids park
the boys were really into the airplane and car explosions
miss. o was even intrigued with the show
olivia suckered us into a toy, her first Minnie...only fair since jackson had racked up 3 toys
jackson on the toy story ride
this is what happens when we push miss o for two days straight and allow for no naps! utter exhaustion

a magical moment
as many of you know...we decided we would take jackson to disney for his birthday this year. it was perfect timing; we had done some volunteer work and were given free passes for mommy and daddy to the parks and just had to buy jman one....hence, it was perfect timing to use on this special occasion.economical and fun too!
His big day landed on a thursday, so we skipped school and hit the road. a little bit of fun in DD the night before and we were raring to go for the magic kingdom first thing in the am.....we got to the park right at 9am (when they open the doors) an did not leave until dinner. we walked the whole park a few times over...hit peter pan, its a small world, dumbo, race cars, toon town, met characters, roller coasters, face painting and were hit up for a few very over-priced toys. nathan and i had to take turns on some rides since olivia could not go on a few. all in all it was one very Magical birthday. few tantrums, lots of smiles and 8 tired legs!!!
